Ece Bal (b. 1992, Turkey) received her postgraduate degree with honors from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2022.
Her work focuses on creating multisensory experiences that explore relationships of scale and engage with cycles of transformation. Through these experiences, she examines the connections between individual and collective memory.
Her practice is rooted in a process-based exploration of natural materials. She creates works that recontextualize traditional techniques such as ebru, glass, and natural dyeing through a contemporary and experimental lens, incorporating elements such as olfaction and video.
